Woodify newest invention!

Woodify newest invention!

I finally released my new Woodify rings, innovative sound solutions for flute. Woodify consists of a wooden ring mounted on the flute’s head-joint. After many years of research, I managed to find the ideal shape and size to create the best result on the instrument. But how does Woodify really work? The wooden surface, in contact with the tube, damps disturbing vibrations of the instrument and minimises loss of energy in the air column. This results in a brighter, richer, and more focused tone and a greater dynamic range. The flute also profits in terms of responsiveness.

The acoustic properties of musical instruments has always been of great interest in my life. While studying flute and electro-acoustic composition as well as Tonmeister at the University for Music and performing Arts in Vienna, I developed an interest also in technology, sound, and craft. Improving my own instrument became part of my artistic research. Through my close relationship with the Wiener Flötenwerkstatt and flutemaker Werner Tomasi, I was able to keep up with new developments in instrument making, particularly in terms of tonal improvements of the flute.

Woodify’s

properties are based on acoustic research conducted with the goal of creating tonal improvement, and I try to work actively with professional flutists to develop and improve my products. On request, I also produces new solutions and ergonomic tools for any application and use.

Feel free to reach out anytime to me, as I always like to work on custom solutions and solve individual problems!
